Reformation Day

Yesterday was Reformation Day.

"I cannot and will not recant anything, for to go against conscience is neither right nor safe. Here I stand, I can do no other, so help me God."

Martin Luther fascinates me...

What is your favorite Martin Luther quote, and why?

i do not have a favorite, but, here is a good one.

Faith must trample under foot all reason, sense, and understanding.

That quote reminds me of how often I tend to "over-think" things--I allow worry to rule my life and think myself into a mental corner.

Often I don't realize there is a freedom I haven't even imagined...I trap myself inside my own reasoning abilities without realizing there is a bigger reality out there.

And so I am learning to hope in Christ even when I feel logically trapped. Because my logic has misguided me many, many times. But He never has.

I love the songs that he has written. Praise God for Martin Luther and what he has done for Christianity. He is definately a man that was a powerful influence and reformer. He inspires me to make a difference, a kingdom difference in the lives of other believers. I hope you have a fantastic day. Thanks.

You actually started with my favorite quote -- "Here I stand. I can do no other. God help me." How often do we feel that way, as if we are doing the only thing we can do, and must just pray for whatever we're going to need to do it?

Preacherman--

I too find both his life and his songs inspiring. Thank you for your thoughts.

khbr--

So true. That quote comes to me sometimes when it seems like there is only one right option--and not a very pleasant one. Thanks for stopping by!
