I think God want people to be honest and tell the truth. We should be ambassedors of truth and righteousness. If we are fired or repremanded from our jobs let it be a part of being a follower of Jesus Christ. I have resigned from a minister position becuase they would not hold to the truth of God. The church was more concerned about pleasing its members than God. It is sad. Paul tells us that he was not trying to please man but God and we should do the same. It is my prayer that truth and righteousness will prevail and we can say, "I have shared in the sufferings of Christ."
i am not totally honest, with myself or others because i am not perfect. but, i think of myself as a fairly honest person. i think that a good number of people are similar to this.
The walk, I have been fired six times. Three times because I was in a profesion, CPA, that was a bad passion match for me; A CPA firm told me during the exit interview "We don't know what to do with you, your work needs the most redo's but you are the only accountant we have that every client asks for". Another partner asked me if I had ever thought of going into entertainment.
I have since become a very successful sales person.
The other times were because I didn't use my voice when issues came up. I am learning that not saying the truth, to not offend, is being dishonest.
The Walk, I have friends that left other professions to become Nannies, they love it
Thank you so much everyone for your encouragement/comments. I'm really excited about finding a new job. I'd been running into a bit of a wall with this question: "Have you ever been dismissed or discharged, or have you resigned in order to avoid discipline or discharge by any employer?" but HR told me my situation didn't count.
Today I'm going to apply at an organization that works with the elderly/shut-ins...we'll see how it goes. And I'm definately thinking about Nannying too.
I am a confused and scatter-brained 20-something who is loved by God. I am terrible at keeping secrets or saving dessert 'til after supper. I have many siblings and even more cats.
